Nike Elite 100: Wing standouts

ST. LOUIS -- After an outstanding performance at Nike's Elite 100, class of 2018 standout shooting guard Aundre Hyatt made the case that he is under-ranked at this point. Here is a look at the top wing performers (listed alphabetically) from the event, which showcases the next generation of stars from the rising sophomore and junior classes.

Performance: A thin small forward from Ohio, Bazley oozes long-term upside. Despite a lack of bulk he rose above the crowd in traffic for some tough rebounds, ran the floor and showed some promise that he can be an effective jump-shooter down the road. He'll have to add more ball-handling, but he has the tools to take huge steps forward as he matures physically.

Recruitment: Picked up offers from Florida and Saint Louis this month.

Performance: Boyce is one of those kids who just seemed to be involved in a lot of positive plays. If it wasn't as a scorer, it was with a hustle play, a deflection or a big rebound. He has the tools to be a good wing defender and he looks to have the tools to be a solid wing scorer.

Recruitment: Ole Miss and Memphis have offered.

Performance: This sophomore-to-be has really made a name for himself over the past couple of months. His above average athleticism and intensity bring him immediate attention, but they've also caused him to be a bit underrated as a shooter. He looks like a future big-time defender and is potential top 25 player in his class at this point.

Recruitment: Florida State, Auburn, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Georgia have already offered.

Christian Brown

Performance: A big-bodied shooting guard with extremely long arms (seven-foot wingspan), Hyatt is an impressive shooter from deep. He is crafty in the use of his body to shield defenders and he can also score through contact at the rim. He backed up his ranking and may be a bit under-ranked at this point.

Recruitment:St. John's, UMass, Hofstra, South Florida and others have offered.

Performance: One of the top ranked players in attendance at the Elite 100, Johnson didn't disappoint. He bombed away from deep, used his strength to shield defenders off the dribble and showed a very nice pull-up game. Johnson isn't an overwhelming athlete and may be a bit more of a natural small forward than shooting guard as Rivals.com has listed him to this point.

Recruitment: N.C. State, Georgetown, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Providence, Texas and others have offered.

Performance: From a pure talent standpoint, Jones has some electricity. He can shoot with range, is creative and has very good athleticism. His feel for the game, particularly shot selection, needs some seasoning but the potential to be a highly coveted off guard is all there.

Recruitment: Texas A&M, South Florida and South Carolina are among his early offers.

Antwann Jones

Performance: One of the most athletic and quickest wing players in attendance, Leech is a slashing and active prospect who loves to attack off the dribble. His jumper is a bit streaky, but he's confident in it. Once he learns to play with some pace and limit silly mistakes, he can really thrive. Regardless, he's looking like a top 25 player in his class.

Recruitment: Kansas, Missouri and Washington are among his early offers.

Performance: After missing most of the spring due to injury, Muhammad hadn't looked like he lost a step. He's a tough wing guard that loves to attack off the dribble and made just enough jumpers to keep defenders honest. There's nothing fancy about his game, but he gets the job done.

Recruitment: Seton Hall, St. John's, Rutgers, Connecticut and Pittsburgh are among his offers.

Performance: Slater made his way onto the Rivals radar as a sophomore because of his size and potential as a long-range shooter. At the Elite 100, Slater showed that he's also a big-time athlete who likes to walk on the edge when it comes to competing.

Recruitment: Early offers from Virginia Tech, USC, Miami, Maryland and others.

Performance: He had a bit of an ankle injury at camp, but for our money he was one of the top five overall prospects in attendance. He's gained notoriety as a high flyer and he certainly showed tremendous explosion, but labeling him an athlete is selling him short. He is outstanding as a handler and scorer in pick-and-roll situations, is an excellent passer. Stanley might be a top 10 player in the class of 2019.

Recruitment: USC, UCLA and Alabama have offered.

Cassius Stanley

Performance: The rising sophomore is a little rough around the edges, but he's athletic, tough and impressive in transition. He rebounded his position well, showed potential as a defender and is a rugged wing cut out of the mold of a young Branden Dawson. He could compete for a spot in 2019's top 25 after the summer.

Recruitment: Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana and others are watching his development closely.

Romeo Weems

Performance: Williams didn't wow anybody with his skill, but he was among the toughest players in camp. An impressive defender and rebounder, he fills the lane in transition, drives to the rim and plays a team game. He is the kind of guy that others should love playing with.

Recruitment: Saint Louis, Hofstra, Hampton and Buffalo have offered.
