A potential member of the class of 2017's Rivals150, combo guard Jarrett Culver never doubted his ability. But, he knew that a little added exposure wouldn't hurt his recruitment either.

Hailing from Lubbock (Texas) Coronado, the 6-foot-5 Culver doesn't exactly come from a basketball hotbed and Lubbock is off the beaten path. However, given the chance to show his ability this spring with Dallas based Pro Skills he's elevated his profile.

Hometown Texas Tech offered first and the onslaught has been on since then because of his versatile all-around game. Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas-Arlington and Illinois have all offered scholarships.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"I feel like I've played pretty well for the most part. Some games I did really well and some I didn't bring it like I know that I could have. I've made lots of plays on the floor but I could be shooting it better.

"I'm always trying to get better and I've always had confidence that I can play the game at a high level. But, being in front of people and being able to show that has been a big benefit."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Culver is an intriguing prospect because he handles the ball well enough to play some point guard. He slashes from the wing, he can defend multiple positions and he has a great frame to add muscle onto.

Though he can play some point guard, we see him as more of a utility guard who can play at the one, two or three.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Culver told Rivals.com that he wants to take his time and see who all jumps in through the summer. He is currently planning to take all of his official visits but the way his recruitment is setting up he is looking like a player primed to end up playing in the Big 12.

Texas Tech and new coach Chris Beard are likely to make a huge push for the hometown star and there's no doubt that he fits right in with what coaches like Jamie Dixon and Brad Underwood will be looking to do at their new posts in Ft. Worth and Stillwater.
