Batts' list of option continues to grow with ACC addition

Point guard Lavar Batts of Concord (N.C.) Robinson had a productive start to the travel season playing for Team CP3. The four-star prospect plays in the shadow of five-star prospect Wendell Carter, but he’s proven to be a talented player who can be counted on to make plays in the biggest situations.

Batts, ranked No. 100 in 2017, has seen his recruitment pick up in recent months. Florida State is the newest school to jump into the mix and it joins a list that already included Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma, Yale, Old Dominion, East Carolina and VCU.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

On Clemson: “I like their program a lot. They have Shelton Mitchell there now and a few others guys I know. They have a good program.”

On Florida State: “I like their program too. I like them a lot. With Dwayne Bacon and all those guys. They do a good job down there.”

On Georgia: “Georgia has been watching me the past couple years and they are really interested in me. I’m interested in them and whoever else comes at me.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Batts plans to take as many visits as he can during the summer. He plans to have his decision out of the way prior to the start of his senior year.

RIVALS' REACTION

His recruitment is going to be an interesting one to follow. Quite a few high-majors are already involved, and he’s talented enough to see his list continue to grow during July if he plays well for Team CP3. It doesn’t seem like any particular school has an edge in his recruitment.
