Tulsa (Okla.) Central point guard Elijah Landrum is slowly starting to see his recruitment pick up as the three-star floor general has led his team to a 15-5 record this season. Tulsa, SMU, Houston, UMKC and Oral Roberts pulled the trigger on scholarship offers a while back. Texas Tech joined the list recently as well. Tulsa looks to be in the lead for Landrum, who is planning on committing some time during his senior season.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: The Rivals150 point guard talked about what stands out with some of the schools recruiting him at this point.

Tulsa: “I like their program. It’s a cool program.”

SMU: “They are having a fantastic year. They are doing really well. I watched them when they came up here to play Tulsa. I like the way they play. They could speed it up a little more, but it’s alright.”

Houston: “I don’t really know a lot about them. I talked to Coach [Kelvin] Sampson. He’s a real cool dude. He’s a real honest dude.”

Texas Tech: “They just offered a couple weeks ago. I haven’t talked to them much yet, so I don’t know a lot about them.”

WHAT’S NEXT?: Landrum's focus at the moment is on finishing his junior season the best he can and then will turn his attention to his final chance to play on the travel circuit.

RIVALS’ REACTION: At this point, it’s hard to see Landrum going anywhere other than Tulsa. Landrum admitted Frank Haith’s program has the lead right now, and it seems like it’s by a pretty big margin. It will be worth watching whether any bigger programs in the Midwest or Texas come calling to see how that could impact his recruitment.
